July 25th marks National Intern Day – a day to recognize and celebrate the hard work and contributions of our cadets and interns.
Every year, CSL is proud to support some of the best and brightest as part of its global cadet and internship programs. During the summer and throughout the year, approximately 100 cadets and 50 student interns gain valuable hand-on knowledge and professional experience, which will serve them throughout their career paths. CSL also awards scholarships and bursaries to high potential students.
Investing in our young people is an investment in the future of CSL and the marine industry. The mentorship and experience they receive on CSL ships and in our offices is exceptional. Equally, the meaningful contribution and fresh perspective these students provide is beneficial to the company and well appreciated.

Over the years, CSL has had the great honor to see some its cadets and interns become employees of the company. In the CSL Americas fleet alone, 41% of Captains and 47% of Chief Engineers began their seafaring careers as CSL cadets.
Earlier this year, CSL’s Co-op Student Program received top honour from Concordia’s Institute for Co-operative Education for providing high-calibre, enriching on-the-job work experience to students in a variety of disciplines.
On behalf of everyone at team, I would like to thank our cadets and interns for their support and wish them all the best as they navigate towards a fulfilling career.
