CSL Honours Crews on International Day of the Seafarer

Jun 25

2014

June 25thmarks the internationally-recognized Day of the Seafarer. Created by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in 2011, this special day recognizes the indispensable role of seafarers in the world economy and society in general.

On the occasion of the Day of the Seafarers, I would like to honour the hundreds of men and women who every day work on CSL’s ships and are the driving forces behind our company’s success. On this day, the world recognizes the important socio-economic role of seafarers and the unique and demanding nature of their work. CSL is honoured to pay tribute to our seafarers today and every day.

Rod Jones, CSL Group President and CEO

In recognition of the “unsung heros” of the industry, the IMO is encouraging people to complete the sentence “Seafarers brought me………..” and posting photos, videos and/or written messages on social media sites using the hashtag #thankyouseafarers.

Messages can also be posted on the IMO’s virtual wall at http://dayoftheseafarer2014.imo.org.
